Story[]

Although Benjamin said he only occasionally frequented the training grounds behind Juliette Palace, soon after Jesse began taking afternoon walks, Cédric was seen everyday going out to train. This caused Jesse to move his after-lunch walks to morning strolls in order to avoid him. [1]

Earlier on in Jesse's transmigration, Jesse was under the impression that he had never actually properly crossed paths with Cédric. He was wrong, however, since they had previously met several times before—though, Cédric hadn't been in his actual form, rather, in a younger and smaller version of himself of whom he told Jesse to call him "Sadie," in order to conceal his real identity and condition from a diplomatic hostage. Sadie initially only sought Jesse out due to the prince's immense amounts of noble and pure ether in order to help with his chronic ether depletion and inability to control his power[2] (which is also the reason why he had to take on the form of "Sadie"), sometimes even going as far as to take it from Jesse without asking, oftentimes leaving the priest to faint from ether depletion himself.

With Jesse's help, however, Cédric was able to recover rather remarkably, with his condition being much visibly better to the point where he was unable to control his 'strength' during sparring sessions and often ended up breaking his opponents' swords or lighting their clothes on fire. The biggest victim of this was Vice Captain Élisabeth Moutet, of whom—much to her irritation—had at that point gone through five broken swords and six uniforms that were burnt at the sleeves.

After that intense sparring session, the two sat down and discussed the affair of Cédric not having yet told Jesse of the truth regarding "Sadie" and all his visits to replenish himself in ether. Élisabeth is upfront with Cédric about her not wanting to have to lie to Jesse about the situation anymore, since "Prince Jesse was a very good person who always gave a listening ear for others, unlike the rumors she had heard," and thus decided that he could be trustworthy despite his status as a diplomatic hostage. This was why she was angry at Cédric for threatening the other prince and throwing a dagger at him, when she was certain that, had Cédric just been truthful, Jesse would've undoubtedly listened to his case and helped out.

Cédric, however, is a (tbd)[2]
