VOLUME 1: CHAPTER 1~23[]

Chapter 1~3 – A person’s crash landing[]

Chapter 1 – A person’s crash landing (1)
SUMMARY: On March 18th,[2] Jung Yese wakes up in the body of Jesse Venetiaan, the second male lead of the novel (I Quit My Job and Ended Up as a Noble Young Lady in Another World) that his sister, Jung Eunse, was very fond of.

I was tall and handsome with blonde hair and purple eyes. I smiled and could see the corners of my mouth rising in the mirror. A young man that everybody would definitely say was handsome was looking back at me.
Jung Yese, as Jesse.

Chapter 2 – A person’s crash landing (2)
SUMMARY: Upon realizing the world in which he had transmigrated into, Jesse notes down what he remembers of the novel, as well as his goals to help better ensure his survival and escape the death that the original Jesse succumbed to in the original story.

It’d be one thing if I had to interject in the two of their relationship, but I was more confident than everybody else in being completely unrelated to them.

I had quite the confidence in doing that since I was #foreveralone.
— Jesse, about his goals.

Chapter 3 – A person’s crash landing (3)
SUMMARY: After asking to be brought several magazines and books, Jesse officially meets Ganael Callamard, the eldest son of a viscount who—upon hearing that he was coming to the Empire—immediately volunteered to go to Juliette Palace to serve him. Ganael ends up shyly asking Jesse—a royal priest—if he could listen to his confession, to which Jesse in the end agrees to, although slightly anxious about doing such a task.

Deciding to take a stretch and absorb some vitamin D after spending most of his day sitting in the study, Jesse turns to look out the window where, in the distance, he spots several figures sparring at the West wing at the back of the Juliette Palace (where he later finds out through Benjamin that it is the royal training grounds), and makes eye contact with one of the men.

In this chapter, he admits to Benjamin that he only wishes to live peacefully.

“I just wish to go home alive. It’d be ideal to have all of my limbs intact as well.”
— Jesse, to Benjamin.

Chapter 4~6 – Flume Ride[]

Chapter 4 – Flume Ride (1)
Summary: One week has passed since Jung Yese woke up as Jesse Venetiaan, and it is currently March 23th. For the past five days, Jesse kept the same morning and afternoon routine, but after realizing that Cédric Riester had suddenly been visiting the training grounds behind Juliette Palace everyday during the time of his usual after-lunch walks, Jesse then decides to change his strolls to the morning in order to avoid him.

During his first morning walk, he is kindly greeted by the gardeners of the palace, one of which who expresses sadness for not being able to present him purple tulips, since Jesse was from the Holy Kingdom.

It is also revealed that tea time at Juliette Palace eventually came to include all the attendants, since Jesse felt awkward being the only one drinking tea while Benjamin and all the young attendants watched him. Jesse even shared cookies with the gardeners, since he "felt guilty that (he) was being a slacker when people who looked much older than (him) were doing manual labor in front of (him)."

During the group tea time, the children admit to never having bad dreans since Jesse's arrival.

When the attendant children have left Benjamin and Jesse alone, Benjamin brings up the Biweekly Riester and asks Jesse why he was interested in the Empire's Beau Monde despite avoiding all important people. As an excuse, Jesse admits to being an introvert who likes to approach things via text alone, to which Benjamin responds that his behavior was different than what he's heard of. Jesse responds with, “That is how rumors are. They tend to be exaggerated.”

At some point, Benjamin brings up his devotion to the Almighty God and how he has the conviction to become a martyr in order to protect Jesse, should it ever come to it, but that the children attendants are different, and that they would become weak if faced with death. He asks Jesse—the agent of their faith—to promise him that he would be a responsible priest for the believers.

Jesse swears to the Almighty God, and a wide golden circle appears on the ground, with him at the center.

[ I swear to the Almighty God. ]
— Jesse, to Benjamin.

Chapter 5 – Flume Ride (2)
Summary: Jesse is visited by Vice Captain of the Imperial Guard, Élisabeth Moutet, who has come to interrogate him on the matter of a Divine item being stolen from the Temple of Vigilance. Jesse being a potential suspect of the theft was the reason why "Benjamin almost went crazy in the garden" and why Ganael extremely anxious all day. But despite Vice Captain Élisabeth calling it a serious matter, the interrogation went very easily.

The chapter ends with Jesse being visited at night by two of his young attendants, the Bellang twins.

“Most people do not memorize their names.”

Her voice sounded as if she was holding back a laugh.

“You are just as Ganael told me, your highness. I was told that you are someone in a high position who is generous to the attendants and respectful even to the gardeners.”
— Élisabeth, to Jesse.

Chapter 6 – Flume Ride (3)
Summary: Jesse is visited at night by his twins attendants, Renault and Steve Bellang, but quickly realizes after they attempt to assassinate him that they are not who they initially pretended to be during the whole week they spent together. The children's names are actually Peter and Synkie. Jesse manages to save himself, however, by opening his Holy Domain and using a Divine Oracle to command the two boys to stop, and even manages to prevent them from committing suicide upon realizing their failed attempt, because he needed to "figure out the details of this issue and come up with a plan to prevent this kind of danger from happening again." The twins were startled when he used his abilities, since they were unaware that Jesse had that much Divine power—enough to overwhelm their own.

Peter and Synkie imply that it was "his majesty" (of the Holy Kingdom) who ordered for Jesse's death.

Jesse faints a little after just as Élisabeth Moutet and Benjamin appear with the Imperial Guard to arrest the twins. A while later, as he floats between consciousness and unconsciousness, Jesse manages to hear parts of a conversation between Élisabeth and a man she calls Cédie.

When he fully wakes up after three days[3] (March 26th), Jesse is immediately greeted by Cardinal Aurélie Boutier, an important character in QNW that Jung Eunse frequently mentioned, who explains that Peter (a Holy Knight) and Synkie (a priest) were children sent by the Holy Kingdom to assassinate him. They killed the original Bellang twins while they on their way to the Imperial Capital while going through one of the dangerous forests in the south, before disguising themselves as them.

My name is Aurélie Boutier. Have you heard my name before?
— Aurélie Boutier, to Jesse.

Chapter 7~8 – News about her[]

Chapter 7 – News about her (1)
Summary: Cadinal Boutier and Jesse talk a bit more about Peter and Synkie, as well as the Bellang twins they impersonated, Renault and Steve. At some point, Aurélie brings up Prince Consort Werner, and how the twins admitted that he was the one who sent them to assassinate Jesse. They go a little more in depth about the original Jesse's family life and drama (more information can be found here), revealing that Jesse was a bastard son born between the Queen and an commoner priest, and how he was rather popular and well loved for being born with purple eyes which was a sign of being a descendant of the Almighty God.

As the father of the crown princess, Werner felt concerned over Jesse's popularity with the people and decided it best to have him be killed in the Empire, ask the Empire to take responsibility if he died as a diplomatic hostage.

The twins were also planning on killing him and making it appear as a suicide, and then frame him for the temple theft incident, which would've been convenient since he had recently been questioned about it. Cardinal Boutier ends up confirming that Jesse hadn't stolen the Divine artifact by opening her Holy Domain.

A little later on, Jesse talks with Élisabeth Moutet about how she was able to figure out the twins were imposters so quickly. Turns out, she met them when she was younger whilst staying at Baron Bellang's estate alongside the Imperial Crown Prince.

The chapter ends with Vice Captain Moutet mentioning Jesse's attendance at the Spring Ball, to which he feels impending horror.

“Ah, we will make sure that you have plenty of guards for your attendance at the Spring Ball as well.”

“Excuse me? The Spring Ball?”

I asked in a cold tone. All of the other thoughts in my head quickly left like the water during a low tide.
— Élisabeth and Jesse, about the Spring Ball.

Chapter 8 – News about her (2)
Summary: Vice Captain Élisabeth Moutet informs Jesse on the matter of the Spring Ball, thinking that he hadn't a clue on what the event consisted of, and mentions Ganael looking out of it as a possible reason as to why he hasn't informed Jesse of the Ball yet. Élisabeth talks about Christelle de Sarnez finally waking up from her three year sleep, and how her attendance at the Spring Ball and Beau Monde debut will gather the attention of high society—and to Jesse's surprise, she also names him amongst the people the nobles will be watching with interest, since word about him surviving an assassination attempts one week into arriving at the palace thanks to his own abilities have widely spread amongst both nobles and commoners.

Jesse, however, believing that the ball in which the original main character would be appearing at, would be even more dangerous for him than his assassination attempt, tells Élisabeth that he will be busy on the day of the ball, as he intends to fulfill his role as a Confessional Priest in the palace.

The scene then changes to Aurélie Boutier, who, after visiting Jesse, made her way to Sénair Palace after being called for by Empress Frédérique Riester, where they discuss about Jesse's recovery and surprisingly unfathomable amount of ether, as well as whether or not he was the culprit behind the absorption of the Paten of Wishes' Holy Water. Aurélie confirms that Jesse was indeed innocent.

“I will remain as a priest for those people.” I smiled brightly. It sounded like a perfect excuse even after thinking it over once.
— Jesse, while planning to avoid attending the ball.

“I will ask again. Did the prince absorb the Holy Water to get such powers?”

“That child is innocent. I personally confirmed it.”

Aurélie’s calm gaze met the Empress’s fiery gaze.
— Empress Frédérique Riester and Cardinal Aurélie Boutier, about Jesse.

Chapter 9~10 – The Empress Palace’s Number 1 Instructor[]

Chapter 9 – The Empress Palace’s Number 1 Instructor (1)
Summary: Two days have passed, and it is now March 28th, 10:40 AM. Previously, Aurélie Boutier had told Jesse that she would be available to chat on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11 AM,[4] so he decided to adorn formal attire and pay her a visit in order to have some of his questions be answered. What he gets instead, however, was a brief training session in which the Cardinal teaches him how to use his Holy Domain to properly protect himself; how to resist against another person's Holy Domain; how to detect the existence of ether and control it with Divine Power; as well as the difference between ether and Divine Power.

Jesse questions why she's teaching him those things, to which she reveals that during diplomatic hostage negotiations with the Holy Kingdom, the representatives told them that Jesse wouldn't be a threat to anybody since was merely a bishop in name only and had never received any proper priest education—and that such a lie seems to have now become a reality, since he was able to defend himself against a Clergy level priest and Holy Knight on his own, as well as was able to resist against Aurélie Boutier without any training, evidently proving that he was now a proper Bishop-level priest.

Aurélie telling Jesse that she believes he could become of great importance to both the Riester Imperial Family and the Riester Empire as a whole in the future, and then admits that after Jesse's whole assassination attempt, the Holy Kingdom would probably not want for his return.

The chapter ends with Jesse finally asking Cardinal Aurélie what she wants from him, to which she responds with a tinge of desperation if Jesse would possibly be able to help a certain child.

“There is a young child.”

“A young child?”

“Yes. I hope that you can help that child.”

I am probably wrong, but her gaze felt sort of desperate.
— Cardinal Boutier and Jesse Venetiaan.
